Walking times: - from Neustift-Dorf in 4 ½ hours - from Oberissalm in 1 ½ hours - Located on the Stubai High Trail. The approach to the hut is from the Oberissalm in the rear Oberbergtal, a side valley of the Stubaital (approx. 1 1/2 hours walking time). In winter, the starting point for the ascent is Seduck (approx. 3 hours walking time with touring skis). The Franz Senn hut is an optimal starting point for hikes, demanding mountain tours and high altitude ski tours. The hut is also used as a base for many training courses and seminars. The Franz Senn Hut is the largest hut of the Innsbruck Section of the Austrian Alpine Club with about 170 sleeping places. Equipped with hot and cold water, showers, 80 beds and 90 camps, its own hydroelectric power plant for energy supply, a cable car for material and luggage transport, a hybrid heating system (electricity, oil and pyrolysis) as well as a partly biological sewage treatment plant, it is probably also one of the most comfortable and modern Stubaital huts in the entire Alpine region.
