In 1990, 1996 and 2014 Telfes was the venue of the mountain running world championship, and 2009 venue of the mountain run European championship, always within the context of the annual Schlicker Almlauf.

Walk through Telfes with the help of a guide and discover over 1,500 different kinds of roses in the numerous parks and gardens. Experience the colour and form variety of this most noble flower in Austria’s first village of roses during high bloom from June to end of October.

Great tours await mountain bikers around the Pfarrachalm. Those with stamina can go on to the Kreitheralm. The idyllic alpine retreats invite to a hearty meal with culinary specialities. Paragliders and hang-gliders leave their everyday life behind when flying off from the Mountain Station of the Schlick 2000.

A special experience is the nostalgic trip with the traditional Stubaitalbahn into Innsbruck. In the nearby state capital, many cultural points of interest await visitors.

Telfes in Winter

Together with the conveniently close skiing area Schlick 2000 and the Stubai Glacier, an interesting winter holiday in the Stubai is guaranteed. The village with about 1,500 inhabitants at approximately 990 m above sea level lies in the midst of a fantastic winter scenery.

Snow paradise
Unforgettable is a winter hike across the beautiful Telfer Wiesn with unique views of the snow-covered larch forests. Top descents for skiers and snowboarders can be found in the adjacent Schlick 2000 skiing area. The high valley guarantees secure snow conditions until Easter.
