Approach:
From the Elferbahnen mountain station, follow the path towards Elferspitze. At the last fork, rather than going towards the summit cross, continue for approx. 100 metres towards the Elferkofel via ferrata or Zwölfernieder. The climbing garden is directly south of the path (see overview image in the topo). Duration: approx. 1½ - 2 hours.
Wonderful climbing garden with an impressive backdrop. Its altitude makes it a worthwhile destination not just on hot summer days, but in the autumn too as it is south-facing.
Character: technically demanding rock and slab climbing on largely perfect rock Length of route: 12 to 28m Difficulty level: 5b to 6c+
Tip for a extended day’s climbing on the Elfer: Follow the sun! Spend the morning in the climbing garden and enjoy the afternoon sun in one of the beautiful multi-pitch climbs on the west and north side of the Elfer towers. For a stress-free descent - regardless of when the last cable car goes - deposit a bike at the mountain station.
