At the foot of the Serles (2718m) lies the pilgrimage site and monastery inn Maria Waldrast (1640m). The monastery inn is about 6.5 km away from Matrei (Brenner motorway) and easily accessible on a well-maintained mountain road. It is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours. Sun-seekers get their money's worth on the generously laid out sun terrace. The good cuisine offers something for everyone. The house is ideally suited for family holidays, seminars and group projects. 45 beds in 21 comfortably furnished rooms, all with shower/WC and TV connection.

The water that comes out of the spring is said to have healing properties. Maria Waldrast is dedicated to the Holy Mother of God.
