Description

Great mountain tour around the imposing Kalkkögel, also called the North Tyrolean Dolomites.
The very steep trail begins at the Schlickeralm and leads through the Roßgrube to the Alpenklubscharte. The rugged terrain requires absolute surefootedness and a head for heights. The trail leads along the imposing Große Ochsenwand, which is known as a popular via ferrata. On the other side, the trail leads downhill to the Adolf Pichler Hut. After a leisurely rest, the circular trail continues through beautiful meadow hollows, climbing southwards below the Kalkkögel. On scree terrain, you reach the Seejöchl diagonally, from where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the neighbouring peaks. Here you briefly follow the Stubai High Trail to the fork at Schlicker Schartl. Now head downhill, first through rugged terrain, then across alpine meadows of the Schlick2000 back to the Schlickeralm.
