Description

the marathon trail on the trail of the 2023 World Mountain Running and Trail Running Championships
After a start lap through Telfes, the route follows the original Schlickeralm trail past the panoramic lake up to the Kreuzjoch. While the finish line was reached here in previous years, the route continues on wonderful trails via the Sennjochhütte and Starkenburgerhütte (V1), in a wide arc up to the Schlicker Schartl. This is followed by an extremely attractive downhill to the Zirmachalm. A further 300 m downhill via a forest path to V2 at the Schlickeralm. Follow the course of the World Cup route via the Gloatsteig up to the Hals and on to the Saile. You should enjoy the magnificent view as far as the Wilder Kaiser before the route becomes very challenging again via Sailenieder down to V3 at the Pfarrachalm. A gentle uphill and downhill section takes you eastwards to the Kreitheralm and shortly afterwards back to Stubai terrain. The last kilometers back to the finish in Telfes are again technically demanding.
