FILIPPO MANCI

Filippo Manci, born in Rome, studied harpsichord and orchestral conducting after graduating with honours in organ and organ composition from the ‘A. Casella dell'Aquila’ Conservatory. He attended numerous courses, seminars and masterclasses, including at the ‘Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia’, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the ‘Accademia Chigiana di Siena’ (graduating with honours) and the ‘Accademia di Siena’ (graduating with honours). Filippo Manci perfected his organ playing under Maestro Giorgio Carnini and Maestro Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, as well as his conducting studies under Maestro Bruno Aprea and Maestro Carlo Maria Giulini.

He has been conductor at the ‘Basilica S. Pietro e Paolo’ since 1998.

Filippo Manci founded the ‘Melos Ensemble’ choir and orchestra, with which he regularly performs. He has worked with internationally renowned conductors such as Peter Maag, Claudio Abbado, Ennio Morricone and soloists such as Maurizio Baglini, Marcella Crudeli, Claudio Brizi, Vincenzo Bolognese, Francesco Fiore, Santi Interdonato, Duccio Beluffi, Roberto Abbondanza, Danilo Serraiocco and many others.

Since 2016, he has performed increasingly in Austria at St Peter's Church in Vienna, at the Innsbruck Promenade Concerts, at the Schwaz Summer Concerts, in Söll, Wattens, Ehrwald and in Mittenwald and Rosenheim in Bavaria.

SILVIA STEINER-SPAN

The Austrian soprano Silvia Steiner-Span was born in Innsbruck. After initial piano studies at the Tyrolean Conservatory, she studied singing at the Mozarteum University and the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, where she gained her artistic diploma with honours. She received important impulses in masterclasses with artists such as Jessica Cash, Edith Mathis, Kurt Widmer, Brigitte Fassbaender, Margarita Lilova and through many years of coaching by Dale Fundling. She regularly performs in music theatre productions in Germany and Austria and gives recitals of songs and arias. One of her specialities is sacred music. She has sung all the masses by W. A. Mozart, J. Haydn and F. Schubert, as well as all other sacred works by W. A. Mozart. She has sung the solo parts in the great works of oratorio literature such as Bach's Passions, Handel's ‘Messiah’, Mozart's Requiem and Mass in C minor, Haydn's “Creation” and Mendelssohn's 2nd Symphony (‘Lobgesang’) in Salzburg (Great Hall of the Mozarteum), Munich, Naples (Auditorio della RAI), Rome and Zurich, among others.
