Not only today nature lovers or active holiday-makers are drawn to the Stubaital. Famous personalities of the past also paid the Stubaital a visit. The Goetheruhe commemoration plaque in Schönberg bears witness to the visit of the famous German poet in 1786. The Pope as well was a guest in the Stubaital in 1782. The small monument to the Pope in Schönberg is a reminder thereof. Both commemoration plaques can be found near the old Roman road.
More contemporary is the Miederer Watschbichl, where an outdoor presentation showcases paintings and sculptures by admired Stubai artist, or with the artfully arranged stages of the passion of Christ along the meditation path in the Pinnistal valley.
