Ruetz Katarakt

The WildeWasserWeg goes through what’s known as the Ruetz Katarakt, an adventurous gorge that the Ruetzbach flows through, and allows you to marvel at raging rapids from up close.

The Ruetz Katarakt ravine is probably the most spectacular section of the tour because the contrasts that await here could not be greater: one minute you’re walking along the banks of the tranquil Ruetzbach, and the next you’re surrounded by thundering masses of water. Two platforms that are partially constructed over the abyss and a wooden footbridge impressively highlight the stream’s wild power. Thanks to this force of nature, the spectacular gorge with small waterfalls and rapids was created. As you exit the Ruetz Katarakt to see the rapids divided by boulders and a rock sill, you reach the rustic Tschangelair Alm restaurant.
