Stubai folk music – and more!

Experience a wide musical arc: Starting from authentic Tyrolean folk music, the program spans the musical thread over composers' own works to Spanish guitar romances, serious music, world music, and original arrangements of classics from pop, jazz, and rock.

About the musicians:
The Stubai Friday Music is one of the best-known folk music groups in Tyrol. For over 20 years, the trio has been performing in unchanged formation and passionately dedicates itself to the traditional instrumental music of Tyrol and the Alpine region. Original compositions and an open perspective on the musical horizon shape the repertoire, which also includes new folk music, jazz, Viennese songs, and international sounds.
Concert tours have taken the group to numerous European countries, while six recordings document their work. Furthermore, the Stubai Friday Music is regularly featured in radio and television programs in Austria, Bavaria, South Tyrol, and Switzerland.

The musicians:

  • Hubert Eberl, music teacher at the Tyrolean state music school
  • Peter Margreiter, director of the Tyrolean Music School Stubaital, head of the folk music department at the Tyrolean State Conservatory, chairman of the Tyrolean Folk Music Association, and freelance collaborator at ORF Tyrol
  • Sonja Steusloff-Margreiter, cultural manager
