REAL STUBAI - Autumn Highlights - Cattle Drive in Milders

As the Alpine summer draws to a close, one of the most beautiful times of the year begins in the Stubai Valley: the Almabtrieb. Especially atmospheric is the Almabtrieb in Neustift – district of Milders, where the festively decorated cows return from the idyllic Oberbergtal to the valley on September 26, 2026. Accompanied by traditional music and numerous spectators, this day is a true highlight for both visitors and locals alike.

The drive of the cows from the Oberbergtal to Milders is more than just a seasonal change – it is a vibrant symbol of the close connection between humans, animals, and nature in the Stubai Valley. The cows are adorned with flowers, branches, and colorful ribbons – a visible sign of gratitude for an accident-free Alpine summer. On their way to the valley, they pass impressive landscapes until they finally arrive in Milders, a district of Neustift in the Stubai Valley. There, a festive atmosphere awaits them – and of course the visitors as well.

After the Almabtrieb, the celebration truly begins: Bröllerhof in Milders invites to the traditional farm festival. In a rustic atmosphere, it is time to celebrate, laugh, and indulge. The program includes live music, Schuhplattler, and many culinary delights. Whether Kiachl, homemade cakes, or Stubaier Krapfen, there is something for everyone's taste here.
