REAL STUBAI - Autumn Highlights - Alpine Drive with Alpine Festival of JB Telfes

When autumn arrives in the Stubai Valley, a very special highlight appears on the calendar in Telfes: the traditional Almabtrieb with Almfest, organized by the Young Farmers' Association/Land Youth Telfes.
Telfes becomes a meeting point for locals and guests who want to experience this special custom up close. The colorfully decorated animals return to the valley after a successful summer on the mountain – accompanied by music, regional delicacies, and a festive atmosphere.

Program:

• from 12:00 PM Festival start with a small market, playground
• from approx. 3:00 PM Arrival of the animals with musical accompaniment by the "Stubai Alphorn Players" at the village square
• from 3:00 PM Live music in the festival tent

The Almabtrieb marks the end of the grazing season and is deeply rooted in Tyrolean tradition. When the livestock returns safely from summering in the mountains, it is a reason to celebrate – and this is done with great passion in Telfes. The animals are adorned with elaborate floral arrangements, bells, and ribbons, proudly parading through the village, accompanied by their herders. For visitors, this is not just a beautiful photo opportunity, but a true piece of lived culture.
