opis

Hike along the chapel path to the Maria Waldrast monastery, tread water in the monastery's Kneipp pool and across the high moor on the Gleinser Berg mountain to the Gleinser Höfe farms.
From the Serlesbahnen mountain station, we follow the Kapellenweg (Chapel Trail), which leads along a pleasant forest road to the Maria Waldrast Monastery pilgrimage site. The highly energetic water of the Waldrast spring is said to have great healing powers. Visitors come from far and wide to fill canisters and bottles with the precious water, which gushes out of the spring very deeply and is said to be germ-free. At the car park, the hiking trail leads slightly uphill towards Gleinser Mähder where we reach the so-called "Eulenwiesen" (owl meadows) on Gleinser Berg. The "Eulenwiesen" are hidden mountain meadows in the middle of a larch forest - an idyllic secluded spot above Gleins that exudes a special tranquillity. The trail continues across the high moor past rustic hay barns that invite you to linger. From here it is not far to the Gleinserhof inn, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Stubaital and the limestone peaks of the Schlick. Back into the valley, we follow the trail towards Mieders below the inn. The moderately steep hiking trail leads through woodland back to the valley station of the Serles lifts.
