Hike along 15 rosary chapels from the village square in Mieders to the well-known pilgrimage site of Maria Waldrast. The 3-hour hike is especially popular from late spring to late autumn.
The niche wayside shrines on the chapel path were restored by the artist Prof. Franz Krautgasser in 1952. They depict the 15 mysteries of the joyful, sorrowful and glorious rosary. The way chapels are identical in construction, they have an approximately square ground plan, a steep gable roof, a round arch niche with cross vault and a painted starry sky underneath. The original wall painting was done by the Tyrolean artist Caspar Jele in 1853/54.
You can find more information and a detailed description of the route in the themed walks under Chapel path.
From the end of May, a private exhibition by the artist Franz Krautgasser will take place on the Kapellenweg.
More information about this event will follow.
