In the footsteps of King Serles

The trails in the hiking and recreational area in the Stubaital near Mieders take you through the magnificent mountain world of the Stubai Alps. The Serles Mountain owes its name to “King Serles” who is the centre of an old Stubai legend. But it is not just the old stories that make hiking around the Serles so exciting. The wonderful nature especially fascinates hikers with its gentle meadows and mountain moorland. Enthusiastic mountaineers, leisurely hikers, Nordic walkers and nature lovers alike will find what their heart desires across Tyrol’s trail network which bears the hiking trail seal of quality.

The varied hiking network in the Stubaital offers hikes between 15 minutes and 3.5 hours starting at the Koppeneck Summit Station.

The Kaser-Mahder-Steig circular hiking trail goes along the border of the Zillertal and the Stubai Alps. Those looking for impressive photo opportunities, particularly coming from Innsbruck, come to the right place at the Kaser-Mander-Steig. Rare flowers and colourful blooms await hikers along the way to the Blaser, one of Tyrol’s most flowery mountains. The Quellenweg will lead you past gushing springs, captivating hikers with myths and legends. A special holiday experience in the Stubaital is a sunrise hike to the summit of the Serles. Early risers are rewarded with an amazing interplay of colours that you can only experience in the mountains.

New: Eulenwiesen circular trail
Starting from the Koppeneck Summit Station, take the forest trail towards Eulenwiesen. Past the Ochsenhütte continue along the forest path to Eulenwiesen. After approx. 40 minutes you will reach a fork where you turn to the right towards Gleinser Mähder. Along the high alpine meadows you will reach the Eulenwiesen after a short, but steep climb. The forest path at the end of the Eulenwiesen leads to Gleinserhöfe. From there a trail takes you back down to the Serlesbahnen Valley Station. You need approx. 3½ hours for the entire round trip. You will surely be enchanted by the natural beauty of the Eulenwiesen, a unique photo opportunity, no matter what the season.

The highlight for summer holiday-makers: with the Stubai Super Card, the summer ticket comprising the Bergbahnen in the Stubaital, you will enjoy you numerous advantages such as free use of the cable cars throughout the entire Stubaital!
