The Starkenburger Hut was built in the mountains above Neustift in 1900 by the Starkenburg section of the German Alpine Club. In recent years a lot of work has been put into its modernisation. The main focus has been on improving energy efficiency (photovoltaic installation, water cisterns) and environmental conservation. The terrace offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Stubai mountains with their countless peaks of over 3,000 m. The Starkenburger Hut is ideal as the start or end point for any hike along the Stubai High Trail. The rooms and dormitories, many of which are newly built, provide good overnight accommodation. The hut can accommodate up to 60 hikers. Families with children are very welcome. Other hiking routes from the Starkenburger Hut:
