From the Schlick 2000 car park, turn left past the Valley Station and continue on a well-marked trail slightly uphill through beautiful winter forests for about 900 m until you reach a fork in the road. Turn right to the Fronebenalm, then simply follow the trail. Return along the same trail or continue for about 10 minutes to the Froneben Intermediate Station and take the cable car back to the starting point.
