Families and adventure seekers can look forward to a new highlight in the Stubai Valley: a spectacular suspension bridge that stretches majestically over the valley and creates a unique combination of scenic beauty and modern engineering. This impressive construction invites visitors of all ages to experience the nature of the Stubai Valley from a breathtaking perspective.
Central themes in the planning of the new bridge were the combination of aesthetics and functionality, as well as the harmonious integration into the natural environment with the help of the use of contemporary building materials. Corten steel was chosen, a material that is characterized by its high weather resistance and natural corrosion resistance and thus has a long service life.
The bridge impresses not only visually, but also with its technical data: it has a span of 110 meters, a height of 50 meters and a walkway width of up to 2.5 meters. With two suspension ropes and a wind rope, it offers maximum stability even in extreme weather conditions. 24 anchors and piles ensure a solid fixation in the ground. It can withstand a payload of approx. 600 people and is also designed for high snow loads in winter.
The suspension bridge is located on the new, picturesque ‘Sunnenseit'n Weg’, which leads over a length of eight kilometres from Fulpmes to Neustift. Starting from the Froneben middle station in the Schlick 2000 hiking centre, the route continues along the ‘Baumhausweg’ (treehouse trail) to Vergör and then always along the sunny side of the valley via the Pfurtschellhöfe to the Kartnallhöfe in Neustift. At 1,300 metres above sea level, you can reach the imposing building, which offers not only a fresh breeze, but also a spectacular panoramic view over the Stubai Valley. Above the bridge, visitors can also reach the newly built viewing platform with the scenic nature site called ‘Neustiftblick’- an ideal place for unforgettable holiday photos.
The new suspension bridge promises an incomparable experience in the Stubai Alps and enriches the hiking adventure in the Stubai region.
