Stubai Glacier kicks off its winter events season with dirndls and lederhosen

Following a successful start to the 2026/27 winter season, and with more pistes and lifts opening all the time, Austria’s largest glacier ski area is once again inviting visitors to enjoy winter at its best with an exciting programme of events. The programme up to mid-November features four events – Ski-Oktoberfest, the Stubai Prime Park Sessions, the Stubai Zoo Park & Test Days and the Intersport Testival – bringing together skiers, freeriders and snowboarders at over 3,000 metres above sea level. Whether it is enjoying Oktoberfest in traditional dress, watching international freestyle stars or trying out the latest winter sports equipment, Stubai Glacier’s autumn programme offers something for everyone.

Spectacular views, freshly groomed pistes and a packed events calendar make Stubai Glacier the ideal destination for a holiday or day trip – just 45 minutes from Innsbruck and easily accessible by public transport. This autumn, Austria’s largest glacier ski area is bringing together tradition, elite sport and innovation: between late October and mid-November, four events will offer memorable experiences on and off the slopes.

Ski-Oktoberfest WEISSE WIES’N (24 and 25 October)
On 24 and 25 October, the Gamsgarten top station will host a Bavarian-style celebration. The “WEISSE WIES’N” Ski-Oktoberfest will feature live music from the Rieder Gipfelstürmer. The programme also includes a beer-tapping ceremony, a display by the Feuerkogel vintage ski group, Oktoberfest specialities, competitions and a beer stein-holding contest. A special treat for fans of traditional dress: anyone who comes skiing in a dirndl or lederhosen on Saturday or Sunday will receive 50% off the standard adult day ski pass.

Stubai Prime Park Sessions (2 to 22 November)
The Stubai Prime Park Sessions get under way at the beginning of November. Every autumn since 2013, freestyle professionals from around the world have gathered at the Stubai Zoo snowpark to prepare for the competition season ahead. Olympic champions, world champions and X Games winners train on the exclusive Prime-Line, showcasing freestyle at the highest level.

Stubai Zoo Park & Test Days (6 to 8 November)
The Stubai Zoo Park & Test Days combine equipment testing with snowpark action and a varied programme of side events. Friday’s programme features Open Park and a Party Night in Neustift. On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, visitors can try out the latest ski and snowboard equipment from leading brands such as Burton, Armada and DC free of charge. A chill-out area and DJ sets add to the atmosphere. At SLASH RIDE & PLAY with snowboarding legend Gigi Rüf, youngsters can get their first taste of freestyle at the Kids Rail Playground.

Intersport Testival (12 to 15 November)
From 12 to 15 November 2026, the INTERSPORT Testarea at the Eisgrat top station, 2,900 metres above sea level, will be dedicated to the latest winter sports trends. Leading brands such as Atomic, Fischer and Head will present their latest ski and outdoor products. Testival passes are available exclusively online from €29 per day (excluding a ski pass). The programme also features side events such as carving camps, avalanche transceiver training and workshops. A particular highlight is the “One Night Under the Stars” bivouac camp, presented by The North Face.
