Experience and enjoy golden autumn moments in the Stubai Valley

Two months of full active enjoyment.

When the sun shines atmospherically through the colourful foliage and the days are slowly getting shorter, the Stubai Valley in Tyrol offers the perfect place to linger. From Monday, 01 September, to Sunday, 02 November, the "Echt Stubai Herbsthighlights" invite visitors and locals to a colourful programme in front of the breathtaking mountain backdrop. With more than 100 events on music, cuisine and tradition as well as guided hikes, there is something for everyone.

Ceremoniously ringing in autumn

The sun is lower, the temperatures are getting milder and the animals are returning to their home barn in the valley. The cattle drives are very special highlights of the year that amaze young and old. The animals are magnificently decorated with flowers and large bells for their way home. Traditionally, the flower decorations are tied by many hard-working helpers who are passionately committed.

This year's kick-off will take place on Saturday, 13 September, with the cattle drive in Telfes. A week later, on Saturday, September 20, it will continue in Fulpmes. Farmer's markets and alpine festivals with musical entertainment ensure the physical well-being and good atmosphere. Tradition and authenticity are in the foreground here. With hearty delicacies, folk music and social gatherings, it doesn't take long for the first people to shake a leg. On Saturday, 27 September, the farmers will finally lead the animals into the valley in Milders, a district of Neustift and then celebrate at the farm festival at the Brollerhof.

Hiking pleasure and sports programme

Walking through rustling leaves, breathing in fresh mountain air and enjoying the best time for outdoor sports in the Stubai Valley - on guided hikes with different levels of difficulty, visitors can immerse themselves even deeper in the different facets of the mountain region. The focus can be on plants, geology or the animal world. The theme weeks also create special nature experiences. During the "WildeWasser Active Week", for example, you can go high up to the Stubai Glacier or Lake Mutterberg. If you are looking for culinary highlights, you will look forward to the alpine hikes. For those who prefer to travel on two wheels, e-bike tours are regularly offered.

Those with sporting ambitions can work out at the Kalkkögel Trail , which will take place on Saturday, 27 September, in Telfes. Experienced trail runners cover a marathon distance of 42 kilometres, and there is also an 18-kilometer route for beginners. In the village centre of Telfes, the little guests take part in children's runs on age-appropriate routes in the afternoon. Afterwards, all generations will take part in the traditional charity run and make their rounds through Telfes. The donations will be used for social institutions in the Stubai Valley.

Here the music plays from the mountain to the valley

In the Stubai autumn, one musical highlight follows the next. High up at the mountain stations, various folk music groups perform four times a week in front of the impressive panorama: On Mondays from 1 p.m., the Dresdner Hütte offers the Stubai Glacier delicacies in addition to live music. Every Wednesday from 1 p.m., the Elferbahn mountain station attracts visitors with traditional Tyrolean folk music. At the Kreuzjoch mountain station in the Schlick 2000, guests are treated to live music on Thursdays from 1 p.m. Every Sunday in September and October from 11 a.m., the Stubai G ́spiel and G ́sang can be heard on the alpine pastures around the Serlesbahnen. Vocal groups and music ensembles from the entire Alpine region play and sweeten the time in the Stubai Valley with their music. A good atmosphere and excellent cuisine are provided. With the Stubai Super Card, the Stubai mountain railways can be used free of charge - and nothing stands in the way of a relaxed concert visit.

There is also a lot on offer down in the valley. Every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., varied ensembles play various musical instruments in the parish church of Neustift. On Thursday, September 4, and Thursday, September 11, from 8:15 p.m., the Stubai Music Carousel on the Neustift village square invites you to a legendary show with folk, dance and brass music, hits and rock, stars of the scene and local groups.

Between sweet delicacies and hearty specialities

Culinary delights are also provided in the Stubai Valley. The Stubai Farmers' Market at the Neustift Music Pavilion takes place all year round. From spicy mountain cheese to smoked delicacies to fine distillates, there is something for every taste. Every Friday, the farmers from the region offer their homemade delicacies - visitors can stock up on high-quality specialties to take home and thus extend the holiday moment.

In addition to the traditional farmers' market, the Stubai Market will take place in the pedestrian zone of Neustift on Thursdays from 5 p.m. until mid-September and on Fridays from 2 p.m. from 19 September to 17 October. In addition to the culinary offerings, the range will be expanded to include handicraft products, handicrafts and home-made cosmetics. On Fridays, 05 and 12 September, the farmers' market festival invites you to a cosy exchange. Here, regional producers, guests and locals get into conversation. With live music, culinary accompaniment by sweet or savoury Kiachl, traditional Tyrolean doughnuts, and delicious, homemade cakes, a good atmosphere is guaranteed.
