Opened in 1907, the ‘Padasterjochhaus’ mountain hut represents Austria’s oldest hut designed especially for true nature lovers. The hut offers incomparable views over the numerous peaks including the stunning Zillertal Alps, the Dolomites as well as the three peaks comprising the famous ‘Tribulaune’ mountain group.
The Pranger family took over the running of the hut in 1962 and remains today responsible for its management.
The ‘Padasterjochhaus’ represents the ideal starting point for exhilarating mountain tours covering all difficultygrades such as the tour up to the nearby ‘Kirchdachspitze’ (2,840m).
Visitors to the region in spring can marvel
at the rich variety of flora and fauna to be found on the Alpine meadows. For paragliders there are numerous potential take-off points near the hut and a rucksack transfer service is also offered.
