NEUSTIFT - KARTNALL – MILDERAUNALM – NEUE REGENSBURGER HÜTTE - WILD WATER PATH – MUTTERBERG
From the very beginning of the STUBAI 35K, there is a lot of going up and down. In terms of elevation gain, the first few kilometres incorporate over 1,600 metres uphill and 1,370 metres downhill, not just once, but twice. Having set off from the town square in Neustift in Stubaital, steep trails then take you 350 metres up, to the Kartnallhöfe (1,285 m) and on to the Forchachhof (1,341 m). Runners are rewarded with spectacular views of the Stubai Glacier. After this, the trail descends for the first time, down into the “Milders” district of Neustift, and from there, uphill again, via the Milderaunalm (1,675m) to the highest point on the trail thus far, the “Ring”, at 2,301 metres above sea level. This section is certainly the first great highlight of the STUBAI 35K, offering everything that the trail runner’s heart desires: Challenging trails with root-strewn paths, through forests and across rocks. Trails that wind through the spectacular landscape of Stubaital, taking you to the Neue Regensburger Hütte (2,286 m). Neue Regensburger Hütte (2,286 m) is another milestone in the trail.
The second great descent lies before the runners. Along a course of hairpin bends, it’s 1,000 vertical metres down through the “Falbesoner Ochsenalm” to the “Waldcafe” at the bottom of the Stubaital.
