A trail run is not a trail run without support!
To best cheer on the participants along the route, we recommend the following hotspots at the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL:
Landestheater IBK (574m): Start STUBAI ULTRATRAIL 12:00 am, Race Briefing 11:45 pm
The STUBAI ULTRATRAIL will start at the forecourt of the time-honoured Landestheater in Innsbruck. Those wanting to wish runners the best wishes or just wanting to cheer them on should come here. However, this means getting up early. The race start is at midnight.
Directions: From Neustift, Innsbruck can be reached within 30 minutes via the A13. Parking facilities: Innenstadtgarage (downtown garage), Congress Garage
Schlicker Alm (1.643m): first runner 02:25 am; cut-off time: 05:15 am
The idyllically situated Alm (guest house) in the valley basin of the hiking centre Schlick 2000 boasts a long history of running, especially mountain running. It is the eponym of the international Schlickeralmlauf (Schlickeralm run), which has been held in the Stubai valley for almost 30 years. There are two ways to see the runners of the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL here: Either hike up in the early morning or reserve a room in the Alm in good time to stay overnight.
Directions: From the Talstation Schlick 2000 follow the forest path on foot to the middle station Froneben. From there, the Schlickeralm can be reached in approx. 1 hour.
Sennjoch (2.225m): first runner 02:55 am
The Sennjoch marks the transition from Fulpmes to Neustift in the Stubai valley, and it is also the point where the participants of the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL first pass the 2,000-metre mark. Spectators are advised to get up here in time to cheer on the athletes. The best will pass this spot around 02:55 am and the latest pass-through time is 06:27 am.
Directions: From the Talstation Schlick 2000 follow the forest path on foot to the middle station Froneben. From there, the Schlickeralm can be reached in approx. 1 hour. Afterwards, another hour's climb takes you on a steep climb to the Sennjoch.
Starkenburger Hütte (2.237m): first runners from 03:20 am, cut-off time: 07:30 am
The Starkenburger Hütte marks a significant milestone for the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL: At 2,237 metres, it is the highest point in the race so far; almost half of the total distance has been covered, and from here, it goes downhill for the first time. Spectators will be able to cheer on participants until about 07:30 am.
Directions: From Neustift village the trail passes the open-air swimming pool, and then it heads up hill over a small bridge on the right, taking many serpentines, first through woods and then through lighter terrain to the Starkenburger Hütte. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the entire Stubai valley.
Neustift Centre (995m): Start STUBAI 35K 09:00 am
The first runners will be at Neustift centre from 08:00 am, the race-briefing will be held at 08:45 am. At 09:00 am the race starts and participants will run a steep trail directly to „Kartnallhöfe“.
Directions: Centre of Neustift; parking spaces for spectators are located next to the office of the Stubai Tourism Association.
Kraftwerk Oberbergtal (1087 m): first runners from 04:00 am
To motivate the participants from an easy reachable point, you may visit the Kraftwerk (Power station) at the entrance of Oberberg-valley. Runners will pass this point between 04:00 – 09:45 am.
Directions: from Neustift follow Franz Senn Straße for 3.2 km. In Milders turn right at the Intersport Rent and follow the road for approximately 650m (parking lots available).
Milderaun Alm (1.675m): first runners from 04:47 am, cut-off time: 11:00 am
The refreshment point at Milderaun Alm is the first spot, where both, runners oft he STUBAI ULTRATRAIL- and STUBAI 35K-Distance, can be cheered up on their way to the „Ring“.
Directions: From Neustift, follow Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 4.7 km. Turn right after the second bridge in Krössbach and follow the signs „parking Milderaun Alm“ for about 1km. From the starting point a combined forest- and hiking-trail will lead you to Milderaun Alm in approximately 1 hour.
Neue Regensburger Hütte (2.286m): first runners from 05:57 am, cut-off time: 01:30 pm
The Neue Regensburger Hütte marks the second turning point at the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL. Once more the trail leads runners 1000 meters downwards.
Directions: From Neustift, follow Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 9.2 km. In Falbeson turn right at „Waldcafe“ and park your car. From there a path leads in approximately 1h to Falbesoner Ochsenalm. From there it will take you another hour to get to Neue Regensburger Hütte.
Klaus Äuele (Falbeson, 1.194m): start STUBAI 19K 10:00 am
For the runners of the STUBAI 19K, their challenge begins near the Marend Stüberl, surrounded by forest, water and meadows.
Directions: From Neustift, follow Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 8,6 km. Parking spaces are available at the nature park as well as at the Doadler Alm.
Tschangelair Alm (1.390m): first runner from 06:53 am, cut-off time: 02:40 pm
One of the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL’s vital refreshment stations is located at the Tschangelair Alm. Home-made specialities such as a hearty goat goulash or freshly caught char might be too much for the runners. However, their fans might be ready for a hearty meal.
Directions: From Neustift, follow Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 12.9 km. Parking spaces are available at the WildeWasserweg or the Nürnberger-Hütte car park.
Mutterberg valley station (1.747m): start STUBAI 8K GLACIERTRAIL 12:00 pm
The STUBAI 8K GLACIERTRAIL, a pure mountain running track, starts at the valley station of the Gamsgartenbahn. From here the runners expect 8,0 km and 1.394 metres in elevation.

Directions: From Neustift on Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 17.8 km to the Eisgratbahn valley station.
Dresdner Hütte (2.302m): first runners from 08:00 am, cut-off time: 04:40 pm
At the Dresdner Hütte, the oldest refuge huts in the Stubai valley, the glacier seems to be within reach for the first time; and from here, runners will have to gather up all their strength for the next stretch. Runners will be happy to see many spectators as possible, as they will need as much encouragement as possible.
Directions: From Neustift on Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 17.8 km to the Eisgratbahn Talstation. From here, you can reach the Dresdner Hütte by means of an Eisgrat-Gondelbahn (ice ridge gondola, exit at the middle station).
On foot: from the Mutterberg car park, a 45-minute hike will get you to the Dresdner Hütte.
Eisgrat mountain station (2.900m): first runners from 8:32 am, cut-off time: 05:45 pm
The Eisgrat Bergstation (mountain station) at the Stubai glacier forms the gateway to the glacier and the 3,000-metre mark is imminent. From here participants have to conquer another 200 metres of ascent before they will reach the finish at the Jochdohle.
Good atmosphere and food will be provided.
Directions: From Neustift on Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 17.8 km to the Eisgratbahn Talstation. From here on out, you can reach the Dresdner Hütte via the Eisgrat-Gondelbahn (exit at the Bergstation).
On foot: from the Mutterberg car park, walk 45 min. to the Dresdner Hütte (or take the Eisgrat-Gondelbahn to the Fernau middle station); from there, ascend via the Gletscherweg to Bergstation Eisgrat in approx. 2h.
Finish line Jochdohle (3.150m): first runner from 09:00 am, cut-off time: 6:30 pm
At Jochdohle, the highest restaurant in the Alps – “You’ve made it”! The only thing that leads up higher is the path to the TOP OF TYROL summit platform. Those who have conquered the more than 1,300 meters of altitude difference of the glacier section will not only be rewarded with a Finisher Shirt but also a breath-taking view of the Stubai glacier and the surrounding 3,000 m peaks of the Stubai Alps.
Directions: From Neustift on Stubaitalstraße B 183 for 17.8 km to the Eisgratbahn Talstation. Ascend with the Eisgrat Gondelbahn to the Bergstation. From there, continue on the Schaufeljochbahn. From the Bergstation, the finish area can be reached within 5 minutes on foot.
