The Brennerstraße starts at the Graßmayr junction in Innsbruck, and then heads south over the Bridge of Europe. Here the route passes through many small towns and villages, with Schönberg im Stubaital leading the way, until Sterzing (Vipiteno) and Brixen (Bressanone) in the Eisacktal, South Tyrol. From here the motorcyclist can continue further to the Penser Joch or the Jaufenpass. Alternatively the smaller L38 route can be taken, on the other side of Wipptal, leading from Ampass via Lans and Patsch to Pfons. Just before Matrei am Brenner you rejoin the main road.
