Summer is just around the corner - and with it a varied sports and activity programme in the Stubai Valley, which guests should not miss under any circumstances. For nature lovers, pure variety is on the agenda with various sports and events. From trail running events such as the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL and the new Kalkkögel Trail to the Wanderbird Hike and Fly Trophy Stubai, everything is included this year.
The mountains of the Stubai Valley also offer a variety of opportunities for young and old in summer. A trip to the lake, a hike in the mountains, a tour by bike - whether alone, as a couple or with the whole family, everyone gets their money's worth here. Exciting sporting events await guests and round off the warm season perfectly.
On the weekend of 28 to 29 June, numerous participants will take part in the
STUBAI ULTRATRAIL under the motto "CITY2GLACIER" through the breathtaking landscape of the Stubai Alps. The highlight this year is the new STUBAI K15 Sunnseit'n Trail, which leads around the village centre of Neustift in 15 kilometres and 700 metres of ascent and descent. The highlight of the new route is the crossing of the new 105-metre-long suspension bridge, which offers breathtaking views of the Stubai mountains. There is also something for all ultratrail fans on the other four routes: From the STUBAI K8 with a total length of 7.5 kilometres to the STUBAI K18 with a distance of 18 kilometres, which leads along the WildeWasserWeg, to the STUBAI K31, where participants have to run almost 31 kilometres from the valley in Neustift to the glacier. The biggest challenge is the STUBAI ULTRATRAIL K67. The participants start from Innsbruck and have to cover a distance of a total of 67 kilometres within one day to cross the finish line on the Stubai Glacier at 2,960 meters.
The Stubai Valley is a true paradise for via ferrata enthusiasts and those who want to become one. From Friday, 05 July, to Sunday, 07 July, under the supervision of the Stubai mountain guides, you can explore the via ferratas at the Stubai Via Ferrata Days. Participants will also learn what is important when climbing the via ferratas and will also receive the appropriate equipment from Stubai mountain sports companies for testing. The impressive routes not only offer spectacular views of the Alps, but also a variety of challenges for every level. From easy introductory routes to challenging via ferratas along the Stubai Alps - everyone will find their personal challenge here.
For all those who would like to do something good for their body and mind in the midst of an imposing mountain backdrop, glacier yoga is the ideal event. On Sunday, 28 July, the yoga workshop on the TOP OF TYROL summit platform offers all interested parties the opportunity to take a deep breath and relax.
Combine paragliding and mountain hiking - that's what you can do at the Wanderbird Hike and Fly in the Stubai Valley from Friday, August 30, to Sunday, September 1. Participants must first climb a mountain and then fly back down with a paraglider. Here you can experience and enjoy the unique nature in a special way. Important requirements for the participating athletes are good physical fitness as well as experience in mountain hiking and paragliding with appropriate equipment. In the three different classifications - FUN, TOUR and HERO - beginners and professionals alike get their money's worth. This year, the top three in the HERO rankings can win prize money for the first time. In addition, there is a storytelling rating for the best video.
In September, the international Schlickeralm Run will be replaced by a new trail running event for the first time in 30 years: On 28 September, theKalkkögel Trail will be held for the first time in Telfes in the Stubai Valley. The backdrop for this is the imposing Kalkkögel, also known as the "Dolomites of North Tyrol". Participants can choose between two different routes. On the Kalkkögeltrail K42, a marathon distance of 42 kilometres and a total of 2700 metres of altitude difference must be overcome in ascent and descent, during which the Hohe Burgstall, one peak of the Stubai Seven Summits, will be circled. For all beginners in the trail running scene, the Kalkkögeltrail K16 is suitable with a run of 16 kilometres at 900 meters in altitude, which leads to the Schlick. The sporting event is rounded off by a supporting programme with a wide range of activities for young and old. Whether at the Zipfer Charity Run, which offers fun for adults and children alike, or at the Sumsi Children's Run - there is something for all age groups to experience at the Kalkkögel Trail.
