In the Stubai Valley in Tyrol, where young and old alike have fun on numerous slopes in winter, there is no boredom in summer either. The family-friendly entertainment programme for children, the BIG Family Stubai, offers exciting experiences for children from the age of four in summer, from Monday to Friday. They can discover nature in a playful way in the four hiking resorts of Stubai and in the valley or take action-packed activities such as a paragliding tandem flight. Even in the evening, there are still exciting excursions to experience with the lantern hike at the lake. Suitable family accommodations in the midst of fantastic nature provide the perfect relaxation between rafting tours and abseiling training with their BIG Family offers.
The programme of the BIG Family Stubai Summer Club takes place daily for children from four to nine years of age – this year with the mascot Elfi the owl – and children from the age of ten. Every day there is a different highlight to experience. In the forest, on the mountain or water and even in the air, kids are accompanied by the BIG Family Stubai team and supervised by professional guides during the activities. In addition, great events for the whole family are always offered, which provide even more unforgettable moments.
The event highlight during a family holiday in the Stubai Valley is the BIG Family Week. From Monday, July 22, to Friday, July 26, one free highlight chases the next. The Serlesbahnen in Mieders will start on Monday with a fairy tale hike. One day later, the whole family can be inspired by a giant soap bubble show in the Schlick 2000. The Punch and Judy show on Wednesday at the Elferbahnen is always a recommendation, before the magic show takes place on Thursday on the Stubai Glacier. Last but not least, Lake Kampler invites you to the closing party on Friday.
Playing with a full-size wooden snow groomer at an altitude of almost 3,000 meters? Visitors to the Stubai Glacier will be able to do sofrom July this year. With a breathtaking view, the children can climb into the driver's cab or play with the tiller, which has been converted into a seesaw. ‘Groomie’ – with a length of ten metres and a height of approx. three metres, the snow groomer offers enough space to start an exciting journey of discovery. In addition to the lifelike giant mammoth ‘Wollie’, the TOP OF TYROL summit platform at the Eisgrat adventure playground is also a real recommendation to enjoy a view of the Dolomites in good weather.
The Schlick 2000 hiking areastarts at just over 2,000 metres, which can be easily reached by gondola lift - from here guests can best discover and conquer the area. On the "StubaiBlick" viewing platform, visitors are rewarded with a distant view from the Inn Valley to the Stubai Valley. Since this year, the extensive network of hiking and walking trails has even reached as far as the new suspension bridge above Neustift. This can be reached via the Sunnenseit'n Weg, which starts at the middle station and leads via the Baumhausweg (Tree-house-path). In the Alpine Adventure Park, families can prove their climbing skills at all skill levels. On the Disc trail, you have to race with a wooden disc in a gutter at the edge of the path, and on the Baumhausweg (Tree-house-path), the journey of discovery through dwarf Bardin's realm is rewarded with a small souvenir. Within sight of the Schlick 2000, in the village of Mieders, visitors come down the mountain in no time at all. To complete the Stubai cable car quartet, the Elferbahnen also offer a wide range of activities for the whole family. It is always worthwhile to explore the walking time hiking trails. On the "Sun Time", "Blossoming" and "Stone Age Trail", hikers can get to know different dimensions and phases of development of the earth and then stop off at the rustic huts and mountain pastures.
Guests under the age of 15 who stay overnight in a partner establishment of the BIG Family Stubai Summer Club will receive the BIG Family Stubai Summer Card at check-in. With the help of this card, the children enjoy some advantages such as ascent and descent of the above-mentioned mountain railways as well as admission to the outdoor swimming pool "Miederer Badl" and 20 percent discount on admission to the Telfes Birds of Prey Park. In addition, the little guests can use the transfer service to Lake Kampler with the card, where the closing party takes place on the last day of the BIG Family Week.
