Kelly Sildaru (EST) and Henrik Harlaut (SWE) are the winners of the 2nd FIS Freeski World Cup at Stubai Glacier, Tyrol, Austria. In excellent conditions, the world’s best freeskiers showed first-class performances at the perfectly prepared Snowpark DC Stubai Zoo today. In the first Slopestyle event of the season Kelly Sildaru took the women’s crown ahead of Olympic champion Sarah Hoefflin (SUI) and Mathilde Gremaud (SUI). Henrik Harlaut won the men’s comp very close to Mac Forehand (USA) and Ferdinand Dahl (NOR).

The decision to bring the final forward by one day proved to be right: DC Stubai Zoo welcomed the participants with sunshine and no wind. Under these conditions, the freeskiers were able to show their most demanding tricks on the kickers and rails of the snow park. 71 men and 30 women had started in the qualification on Thursday, the 18 best men and 8 best women battled for victory in the finals. They completed two runs, of which the better one scored.

Finals rescheduled to 23 November 2018 due to the weather forecast.

The finals of the FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai 2018 will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018. Due to the bad weather forecast for Saturday, the organizers have decided to bring the finals forward by one day. At the Stubai Glacier, the elite of freeskiers will fight for the title of the first Slopestyle World Cup winner of the season.

At its second edition, FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai proves to be the meeting place for the world’s best freeskiers once again. Since Tuesday, 33 female and 75 male riders from 23 nations have been training in the perfectly shaped Snowpark DC Stubai Zoo. Due to the new schedule, all qualifying rounds for women and men will now take place on Thursday. The best 8 women and the best 18 men in the qualification will then move on to the finals, which will start on Friday, November 23, at 11:45 a.m. For the finalists, it’s all about the first Slopestyle World Cup points of the season and CHF 50,000 in prize money.

The freeskiing world elite opens the slopestyle season at Snowpark Stubai Zoo from 20 to 24 November 2018. International top riders, a top-class snowpark and exciting competitions: From 20 to 24 November 2018, the Stubai Glacier at Tyrol, Austria, will once again be the centre of the freeski world. The FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai will take place for the second time in the Snowpark DC Stubai Zoo presenting spectacular freeski action at the highest level. Around 120 starters from over 20 nations are expected for the first Slopestyle World Cup of the season. The Slopestyle season kicks off with a hefty total prize money of CHF 50,000; CHF 25,000 each for men and women. It will also be the first opportunity of the season for riders to collect points for the Slopestyle World Ranking and thus to participate in the World Championships in Park City, Utah, USA, in February 2019.
