The Schlick 2000 replaces the drag lift Galtalm from 1961, with a modern and comfortable 10-seater gondola lift from the company Leitner.
"In June 20223 the first construction work for the new 10-seater gondola lift began on schedule," says a delighted Ing. Martin Pittl, Chairman of the Board of Schlick 2000. In the coming months, the innovative and sustainable gondola lift will be built, which will offer guests a great deal of quality, comfort and safety.
The core of this major project includes the extension of the lift from the bottom station slightly below the Fronebenalm to the top station above the Galtalm at 1,760 meters. Constructive cooperation with the landowners concerned and the authorities favored a rapid approval phase and thus a start of construction this year. It is planned to start operations in the course of the coming winter season, and a possible summer operation is also being considered.
The new Galtberg lift will lead to a significant improvement in quality and comfort and will make life easier for ski schools and beginners in particular. Furthermore, it promises ride comfort at its best: 23 spacious XLine deep cabins with premium floor seats, powerful speed of up to 6 m/s with a ride time of around 4 minutes, transport capacity of 1,400 people per hour, which can be increased to a maximum of 2,000 people per hour.
The ropeway is equipped with the gearless and almost noiseless, environmentally friendly direct drive developed by LEITNER. This results in energy savings of up to 9% and the elimination of all gear oils. Another advantage for the new gondola lift is the elimination of the long, steep towing track, as well as its costly preparation. It also ensures safer transportation for children and less experienced winter sports enthusiasts.
