"Tuifllauf"

Fulpmes | Kirchplatz

On December 5th, Fulpmes will once again be swept up in wild magic when the traditional Tuifllauf -Stubai dialect for "devil's run" - takes place at the Kirchplatz in Fulpmes.

The festivities begin at 7 pm, when the bars around the square open their doors to visitors. The evening kicks off with excitement as the Jungtuifl, the young devils, take the stage at 8 pm, creating a mystical atmosphere. A bit later, St. Nicholas appears with his entourage, accompanied by the Tuifl, who also stir up quite a commotion. St. Nicholas brings small gifts for good children, bringing smiles to their faces.

The Tuifl (meaning "devil"), is a fearsome figure that accompanies St. Nicholas and is a key part of Advent traditions in the Alpine region. If you ever find yourself in the area, you shouldn’t miss this Tuifl run.

Traditional Tuifllauf

The highlight of the evening is undoubtedly the grand Tuifl run at the Kirchplatz, considered one of the most spectacular and wildest in all North Tyrol. The Tuifl, in their impressive costumes and terrifying masks, put on a captivating show that amazes spectators year after year. The burning torches, the rhythmic ringing of bells, and the wild performances of the Tuifl create a unique atmosphere that must be experienced.

Arrival and Parking:
