Winter hiking in Mieders
In Mieders you can expect a true winter wonderland and an extensive winter hiking network high above the valley. The cable car takes you up to the valley station of Serlesbahnen and from there you start your winter hike. Experience a picturesque winter landscape with a breathtaking view of the Kalkkögel and Serles. You have the choice between a short, leisurely hike or an idyllic 14 km long circular walk around the Waldrasterjöchl. Don't miss the path to Maria Waldrast Abbey – hike through a snow-covered magical forest and stop at the abbey restaurant for a snack. If you want an extra dose of fun, you can rent a toboggan and race down into the valley on one of the four toboggan runs. Another special highlight is night tobogganing, where you can enjoy the toboggan ride at night on the illuminated track.

Mieders mountain is the absolute highlight for winter hikers in the Stubai valley. A wide-ranging network of paths high above the valley guarantees an unforgettable hiking experience.
An idyllic 14 km long circular walk of around 3 hours´ duration goes around the Waldrasterjöchl back to the mountain station.
Moving on from the mountain station, the 1.5 hr trail leads to the much frequented Gleinserhöfe guest house.
A leisurely walk takes you to the Sonnenstein Alpengasthof restaurant in 45 minutes.
Maria Waldrast cloister is around one hour´s walk from the mountain station. Stop off at the Kloster pub during your walk.
Hikers who prefer a more leisurely pace will be in their element on Mieders mountain. You can reach the Ochsenhütte from the mountain station in just 20 minutes.
