Flora and fauna in the Schlick 2000 at the Kreuzjoch circular hiking trail
From the Kreuzjoch Mountain Station the circular hiking trail leads to the summit of the Kreuzjoch at 2,170 m and back to the Mountain Station.
On a surface of 1.5 hectares, you can get to know up to 60 different alpine plants. Stony coombs with adapted pioneer plants and multi-coloured flowery meadows bear witness to the great variety of alpine flora. Pasque flowers, gentian and moss campion can be found here, just like dwarf mountain pines, silver thistles and alpine roses. All plants come with a botanical description.
Duration of the hike: approx. 1 hour
Climbing for children
The Stubai mountain guides offer an interesting climbing programme to all children and young people from 6 to 18 who are not afraid of heights or steep cliffs.
