"PURE STUBAI" - Autumn Highlights - Traditional livestock drive in Telfes

When autumn arrives in the Stubai Valley, there is a very special highlight on the calendar in Telfes: the traditional cattle drive with Almfest, organised by the Telfes Young Farmers' Association/Landjugend Telfes. On 13 September 2025, Telfes will become a meeting point for locals and guests who want to experience this special tradition up close. The colourfully decorated animals return to the valley after a successful summer in the Alpine pastures - accompanied by music, regional delicacies and a festive atmosphere.

Programme:

• from 12.00  Start of the festival with a small market, playground
• from approx. 15.00 arrival of the animals with musical accompaniment by the ‘Stubaier Alphornbläser’ at the village square
• from 15.00 live music

The cattle drive marks the end of the season and is deeply rooted in Tyrolean tradition. When the cattle return unharmed from the summer on the mountain pastures, it is a reason to celebrate - and this is exactly what is done in Telfes with great passion. The animals are decorated with ornate flowers, bells and ribbons and proudly parade through the village, accompanied by their herdsmen. For visitors, this is not just a beautiful photo opportunity, but a real piece of living culture.
