Pro Arte Chor

The Pro Arte Choir presents the sounding Austria and folk songs from the neighbouring countries.

The great love of the Pro Arte Choir is the "noble music". Its repertoire ranges from the early madrigal to romantic works to 20th century choral literature, both in the spiritual and secular fields. The folk song, especially the authentic folk song, always has its place in various performances. The choir has worked with the Tyrolean folk song archive for many years. In numerous passion plays and Christmas singing festivals at the Ferdinandeum Museum in Innsbruck, the songs of the South Tyrolean church singer tradition were presented and recorded on CD, which had only been handed down orally until then.

The Pro Arte Choir is based in in the Stubai Valley. It was founded in 1974 by Ingrid Posch, who still directs it today, as a girls' choir and expanded to a mixed choir in 1983. Today the choir has 21 members.

Fixed points in the working year are the pre-Christmas celebrations, the Christmas singing and contemplative events in the Easter Week. In addition, the choir delights with its singing at weddings, anniversaries or funerals.

The Pro Arte Choir has given many friends of choral music impressive experiences over the years. Poetry and dance were also included. Highlights were H.Distler's "Dance of Death", the concert "I know a girl" (love songs), "Summer is going, the years flee" (hits from yesteryear) or "Love, suffering and bliss" (a portrait of the composer J.G.Rheinberger).
If you want to hear the Pro Arte choir at the push of a button, the following CDs are recommended: Tiroler Passionssingen 1991, Tiroler Weihnachtssingen 1990-1994, CD of the choirs of the Innsbruck Land district or the CD "Weihnachten in Fulpmes".

Die Augeiger

"Die Augeiger" presents authentic pieces of Tyrolean instrumental music.

"Die Augeiger" is a violin quartette, which emerged in 1989 from the musical week of the Tyrolean Folk Music Association. Gregor Leutschacher introduced the musicians to the way traditional Zillertal violin music was played then. At the Alpine Folk Music Competition in Innsbruck in 1990, "Die Augeiger" was awarded as "excellent". This was followed by many appearances at various folk music events, television and radio programmes at home and abroad. On February 4, 2000, bass player Gregor Leutschacher unfortunately died in a tragic avalanche accident.

Since then, "Die Augeiger" has been making music as a foursome:

Barbara Aichner - violin

Waltraud Reitmeir - violin

Sabine Fontan – harp

and since 2018 Hans Anker - string bass
