When it was inaugurated in 1904, the 18.16 km long Stubaitalbahn was a true sensation and still is today.
he number of passengers rose steadily, which no doubt is due to the many impressive panoramic views enjoyed during the approximately one-hour trip.
The romantic streetcar line connects Fulpmes with Innsbruck. The ride from Fulpmes goes through idyllic larch forests via Telfes, Kreith, Raitis, Mutters and Natters until Innsbruck.
On this stretch, there are many popular photo motives: The Mutters and the Kreither viaduct impress by their architecture. Beautiful views of the Stubai Alps, the Europa Brückee Bridge and into the ravine of the Sillschlucht, the Wipptal valley and on Innsbruck even today still attract special attention.
The train station of the Stubaitalbahn are worth a visit— some of them are protected landmark buildings. Since the stations were changed at little extent only, you can still admire the architecture of the last turn of the century here.
